Clare Alumni in the 2019 New Year’s Honours

Congratulations to three of Clare College’s alumni who have been recognised by Her Majesty the Queen in 2019 New Year’s Honours list, for excellence in the diverse fields of diplomacy and human rights, education, and heritage.



Michael Keating (1977), lately Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General in Somalia, was awarded a CMG for services to international diplomacy, conflict prevention and human rights 


Caroline (Carey) Schofield (1972), Principal of The Langlands School and College, Chitral, Pakistan, was awarded an OBE for services to education and the community in northern Pakistan. 


Helen Maclagan (1973), independent heritage and culture advisor and member of the Board of Non-Executive Directors of the UKNC, was awarded an OBE for services to heritage and culture.
