Professor Richard West 1924-2020

The College is saddened to report the death of Professor Richard West, eminent botanist, geologist and quarternary scientist, on 30th December 2020 at the age of 93.

 

Professor West was an alumnus of Clare, matriculating in 1948 to study botany. After graduating and attaining his PhD from Clare, he joined the Fellowship in 1954. He was the College's most senior member of the Fellowship at the time of his death.
